Small loans target military personnel

Being a soldier is a tough career. Being in the war means being away from your family and away from your home. And for those who are not yet overseas, there is a constant concern within them anytime they could get a call and be in overseas to battle. This is one of the reasons why Americans have great respect to all their soldiers.

If you live in a military base, within the city you will for sure see many lending companies and lending stores that caters small loans targeting military personnel. These small loans are also called cash advance loans. They are available for short term loans that offer small value, which typically range from one hundred dollars up to five hundred dollars maximum.

Small loans for military personnel offer interest rates that range from ten dollars to one hundred dollars per one hundred dollar loan. The borrower usually is required to issue post dated checks. The loan is payable up to two weeks. After two weeks, the borrower has the option to settle loan by paying in cash, otherwise the lender would cash out the issued check.

Some borrowers cannot pay the loan after two weeks. In this case, the borrower will only pay for the interest and need to roll over again the loan and have an additional interest rate for additional two weeks.

It is unfortunate that some borrowers live paycheck to paycheck. This is where borrowing money turns into a vicious cycle where the loan that started from a hundred bucks only would turn into a debt of thousands.

Most lending companies target to provide small loans targeting military personnel. Why? Military personnel have a steady paycheck. Studies show that military personnel are most likely to pay debts compared to civilians who belong to the same income group.

Another reason why more lending companies cater exclusively to military personnel is that many soldiers are young, thus they are not particular if the interest rates exceeds more than three hundred percent in a year.

Studies show that soldiers that have other problems like being stressed financially have a negative impact in their military preparedness. Military officials are very concerned about this fact. Soldiers are not fully focused on their primary duty, which is to protect us in time of war, when they have financial worry at the back of their minds.
