Obtaining New Credit – Don’t Overextend Your Budget
Because of the current economic state and rising prices, more and more consumers are feeling the ‘economic crunch’. Many of these individuals are living from week to week, without benefit of a savings account to fall back on.
If this sounds like you, it is important to do all that you can not to overextend your budget. Don’t open up high interest credit card accounts or apply for high interest loans UNLESS you are sure you will be able to cover the monthly payment.
It may seem like a good solution, to the immediate problem. But, in the long run you will probably end up owing a great deal more… especially if you miss a payment.
If you do opt to go this route, there are things you can do to ensure the future of your credit worthiness. Try to cut back on your other expenses such as entertainment and don’t be tempted to purchase items that you can temporarily live without. (You can always choose to buy them, when you are more stable, financially.)
It is recommended that you pay more than the minimum payment on any loan or credit card payment, whenever possible and only use your cards when it is ABSOLUTELY necessary.
